Ubuntu and new micro - segmentation!
With upcoming Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, in Ubuntu Core aka "Snappy", on Ubuntu phone, all services now not only run in separated containers (LXD) or virtual machines (KVM), but also automatically get firewalled against each other. Inbound and outbound.
So there is no "intranet", "extranet" any longer. Parts of your inhouse servers then logically belong to other companies, customers or other "Virtual Private Clouds".
All your SQL data has to become segmented, distributed. Thus - many traditional SQL database manufactureres simply are "out of business", have become obsolete.
"Firewall rules creator rulesets" dynamically write and activate firewall rules for you. On demand. Same for network I/O bandwith and file I/O limiters against DoS, Denial of Service attacks.
Note: "Firewall functionality" deeply sticks in Linux kernel, so comes for free. Same for packet inspection. So you can use a "Firewall" everwhere and for free. At no additional license cost!
Unlimited safety without loss of administrative comfort. Juju makes it possible!

Have fun!
