Exactly!

Exactly! Since I got my Note 10.1 end of last year I don't use notebooks, diaries, agendas nor do I print .pdfs anymore =)

It feels so clean and organized not having loads of paper on your desk and always being able to access all of your notes and files everywhere.. ;)

Give it a try!

I'm also not buying printed books anymore, we already carry lots of things with us in our homes, imagine the space and trees you would save if all of your books were digital.. I can see a much more spacious house!

Let's go paperless!

Go paperless in 2013

It’s a new year, which means new resolutions. If you’re up for saving time, money and trees, going paperless might be a good goal for you in 2013.

Google Drive is part of the Paperless Coalition, a group of organizations and products that help you live completely in a paper-free world. Drive makes it easy to keep all your stuff in the cloud and access it anywhere -- so you don’t have to carry around paper copies wherever you go. And if you use paper to fax documents, print receipts, track expense reports or jot notes -- the Paperless Coalition has apps to help with that, too.

Take the pledge at www.Paperless2013.org and invite others to do the same. Happy New Year!

  1. Paperless sounds good to save trees.  But I don't know if I trust Google, or any cloud-technology company, with my important documents for a number of reasons.  What if their servers explode?  Will the IRS be willing to just go with "Well, sir, I stored my important documents on Google Drive and ... well, they're gone somehow now."  I doubt it.  I'm pretty sure in Google's EULA it will say as much.   So, I probably will want to keep a paper copy of most important records locally.  Which isn't to say that I wouldn't use Google Drive.  But I would not put all my trust in it.  Nor would I use it for things that I felt absolutely could not fall into other hands, or be used by Google for marketing purposes, etc.  I simply do not have that kind of trust in any modern technology company at this point.  We keep seeing a tendency of these companies to try to stretch the bounds, and then be forced to claw back... for example the latest kurfluffle with Instagram.  It will take quite some time for the industry to rebuild it's reputation enough for me to trust it again.  Sorry if that sounds a bit cynical, but I don't think I'm interested in giving them that much of a chance to ruin my day.  All of which said, I do like the idea of Google Drive for quite a lot of things, and it will cut down on a lot of paper usage that does not fit into the above mentioned 'security' category for me.  So it's still great, and thanks!

  2. Vb Wyrde you could have the important documents stored locally, with backups on Google Drive and Dropbox for example..

  3. Yup.  I was thinking in terms of maybe business proprietary files that I would really not want on the cloud at all.  But those files are pretty rare.  For most things Dropbox and Google Drive would be fine.  In fact I'm using Dropbox now to share game files with friends.  Works fine.

  4. I have also been slowly using less paper thanks to my Note 10.1.  Does anyone know of an app that uses red light instead of white light for a reading app, so I can read prior to going to bed without the white light being an issue?

  5. Cyndy Hagin I don't know, but I use this Screen Filter app that makes the screen even darker than the system's lowest brightness: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.haxor

  6. Thanks Jessica Meyer, I'll check that out!  I have my brightness set super low for night time, but everyone tells me it is still "white light".  I use my red light on my headlamp when I read a paper book.
