What are you really eating for breakfast?? Maybe we should talk about changing those eating habits to something truly healthy!

Mobile is eating the world. There is no point in drawing a distinction between the future of technology and the future of mobile. By 2020, 80% of the adults on earth will have a smartphone.

A new iPhone CPU has 625 more transistors than a 1995 Pentium. Apple sold 25x more transistors than were in all the PCs on the whole planet in 1995... on the iPhone's launch weekend. On mobile, more time is spend in apps than on the web. Smartphones & tablets are now half of consumer the electronics industry. More cameras have been sold as part of smartphones than as cameras. Technology is taking up an increasing share of human attention. Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon are more than 15% of all global brand value. What tech do children say they'd miss most? Mobile. Computing devices used for video outnumber "televisions." When tech is fully adopted, it 'disappears' -- use of the word "railways" started declining around 1920, "steel" in 1950, "computerization" in the late 1990s, and "software" in the early 2000s.

"Reflecting Pool"
Kure Beach, NC

The milky white ocean swirls into a little pool reflecting the light from the stars above.

I just got back from a wonderful trip up the East coast. What a trip indeed. A great group of folks joined us in Nags Head for the Mountains To Sea Workshops OBX Workshop with Athena Carey  as guest instructor. Tommy White and I had a blast showing everyone some of our favorite spots. In the coming weeks you'll definitely get a glimpse of some highlights from the workshop.

This was captured at Kure Beach on the way back South and I couldn't have asked for better conditions. Fast moving clouds allowed for a some amazing sunset and sunrises and clearing on queue for some star gazing.

These rocks are fairly unique on the East Coast and I plan to get back any chance I get.

Hope you enjoy and feel free to share!
Have a great weekend everyone.

A Real Life Hover Board

"The big catch is that the Hendo can only hover over some types of metal. At the Arx Pax office, we hovered over a floor and half pipe covered in copper. That’s because the board generates a magnetic field. When there is a sheet of metal underneath, it is powerful enough to push the board upward (it’s the same technology as a Maglev train). The developer kit can support up to 40 pounds. The Hendo board can support up to 300 pounds, with support for 500 pounds planned for the future. It only dipped for a fraction of a second when I hopped on."

While vaccine makers and drug companies are rushing to bring medical interventions to the market that might address the Ebola pandemic, there’s already a technology available right now that can kill Ebola in just two minutes in hospitals, quarantine centers, commercial offices and even public schools.

It’s called the Xenex Germ-Zapping Robot, and it was invented by a team of Texas doctors whose company is based on San Antonio. (And no, I didn’t get paid to write this. I’m covering this because this technology appears to be a viable lifesaving invention.)

The Xenex Germ-Zapping Robot uses pulsed xenon-generated UV light to achieve what the company calls “the advanced environmental cleaning of healthcare facilities.” Because ultraviolet light destroys the integrity of the RNA that viruses are made of, it renders viruses “dead.” (Viruses aren’t really alive in the first place, technically speaking, so the correct term is “nonviable.”) #ebola
