The next generation of machine learning rockstars will trade Google and Facebook for top secret hedge funds. Oh, I think they've done that already. I don't know how much Geoffrey Hinton and Yann LeCunn get paid, but I'll bet there are AI guys in the hedge fund world who are earning hundreds, if not thousands, of times more -- they're just not in the news every day. If you're a human, you'd better have inside information, or stock trading is not advisable.
