Just noticed that you're working in the field of robotics. How small the world can be sometimes ;) Here's a video of some stuff I did during my doctorate thesis, probably something for your collection: https://youtu.be/FqMP_AIkDj8
ReplyDeleteAlexander Kettler wow, that was very interesting. You also used swarms to transport objects, in my case it is a heavy object which they can only move together by cooperation. The Wanda robots seem very similar to the E-Pucks! What was your thesis about?
ReplyDeleteJessica Meyer that sounds interesting! My thesis was about tools for the development of swarm algorithms. The wanda robots and the experiment in the video are just one part of it, the other two parts are a simulation, and a mathematical model for describing swarms on a macroscopic level, based on the boltzmann equation.
ReplyDeleteAlexander Kettler is you thesis open sourced? Can we find it somewhere online? ;)
ReplyDeleteIn mine, I use genetic algorithms to evolve arm-shaped structures for the robots to better cooperate. A short video explaining part of it is pinned in my profile here.
Jessica Meyer Nice video. Evolutionary algorithms are always fascinating :) My thesis is not open sourced unfortunately. It's published by the Dr. Hut-Verlag (http://www.dr.hut-verlag.de/9783843907514.html) The title is "Werkzeuge für den Entwurf und die Analyse von Algorithmen in der kollektiven Robotik" (and yes it's in German, sorry ;-)
